Ramgarh lake near Jaipur:
This man-made reservoir near Jaipur is one of the most favoured site for water sports in the state. Stretches to an area around 4km in length and 2 kms in width, Ramgarh lake was the venue for the rowing competitions of 1982 Asian Games. Throughout the year, Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation organizes various kinds of water sports on this lake. Facilities like swimming, boating etc. are available here.
Siliserh Lake near Alwar: Another famous water sport destination in Rajasthan is Siliserh Lake. Located just 10 kms from Alwar, Siliserh Lake is a fairytale site. Surrounded by rolling hills, flaming with bougainvillea and gulmohar, the majestic Siliserh Lake mesmerizes the tourists with its scenic beauty. Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation runs a beautiful palace hotel on the banks of the Siliserh Lake. Along with other facilities, this hotel also provides various water sports facilities to its guests.
Jaisamand Lake near Udaipur:– Heralded as the “ lake city of India”, Udaipur is one of the most romantic city of Rajasthan. Dotted with some picturesque lakes like Pichola Lake, Fateh Sagar Lake, Jaisamand Lake, Rajsamand Lake, Udai Sagar Lake, Doodh Talai, Jian Sagar and Swaroop Sagar, Udaipur is one of the favourite destination for water sports in the state. Jaisamand Lake situated 50 kms south of Udiapur, is an ideal water sport site. Spreads to an area of 90 sq km, this lake is the second largest lake of Asia and offers various kinds of water sports, throughout the year. Boating is a regular feature on this lake.
Chambal River in Kota: Traversing through Kota region, Chambal river also offers excellent opportunity for water rafting in Rajasthan. From Jawahar Sagar to Dholpur, the intricate network of the Chambal river, flowing through rock gorges and forests, provides ideal locales for the perfect water adventure. Crocodiles basking in the sun on Chambal river banks are a common sight for travellers. Plans are underway to introduce a ferry service on the chambal river from Kota barrage upstream to Bhensordgarh to provide a fine opportunity to ride on the gushing waters.
