Jodhpur

The home of Rathores, Marwar or Marudesh was conquered by their after the
fall of Delhi and Kannauj. Rao Jodha founded Jodhpur in 1459 The old city is
fortified, and the wall surrounding it is nearly 10 kms long with eight
gates facing in various directions. The city is situated at the foot of a
hillock.
Bikaner

Founded in 1488 AD, by the Rathore prince, Bika. This is a true desert
country and situated on the ancient caravan routes which linked West /
Central Asia and North India with the seaports of Gujarat, making Bikaner a
flourishing trade centre in the medieval period.
Bikaner is the city of heritage palaces, fort and temples. The must visit
places are Gajner Palace and Lal Garh Palace Junagarh Fort, the Karni Mata
temple at Deshnok, Kolayat.Places of tourist interest in Bikaner are: Lal
Garh Palace,Gajner Palace,Junagarh Fort, Prachina Meuseum
Jaisalmer

Few cities can match the magnificence of this 'museum city', located in the
heart of Thar. Founded by Rao Jaisal in 1156 AD, on the advice of local
hermit Eesul. The Bhati Rajputs of Jaisalmer were a feared lot known for
their valour and chivalry. They levied taxes on the caravans, that travelled
the ancient spice route on their way to Delhi, and went on rampage over the
nearby fortresses, bringing huge wealth to the city.
Not only the aristocracy but the merchants were also benefited, and their
riches were displayed in their richly carved and decorated havelis.
Barmer

The interesting places are damaged fort and few jain temples. Barmer is
12th century city. In Kiradu which near to Barmer you can the ruins of some
beautiful 12th century temple. The Tilwara cattle fair, hand block printing
and furniture of Barmer are very famous.
