from a long 'menu' of spa treatments, massages, facials, manicure and
pedicure. For example, the stimulating Indian Spice Wrap and a delicious
Orange Wrap. All the massage and aromatherapy treatments are aimed at
relieving stress and promoting a deep sense of relaxation and wellbeing.
Perfect after an exciting day's tiger spotting in the Reserve.
» The fitness tent : The Fitness Tent is located at
the Pool level. Guests may use any of the equipment free of charge. As you
might expect, there is an exercycle, rowing machine, steppers and a
treadmill.
» Jeep Safaris : Ranthambore is probably the best
place in the world to photograph the mighty and powerful tiger. Jeep Safaris
are exciting options and the chances of spotting a big cat is better than
anywhere else in India. Excursions around the park give valuable insights
into the culture and tradition of the local people especially the Meena
tribes. One can also look for medieval splendour in the form of forts,
havelis (mansion), and palaces that are scattered throughout the region.
Spending the nights in the many hideouts in the park is another adventurous
option.
Sightseeing
» Discover Ranthambore : Ranthambore, hailed as one
of India's finest wildlife destinations, is located near the town of Sawai
Madhopur, which is around 180 km south east of Jaipur in Rajasthan. The park
derives its name from the 11th century fort of Ranthambore, which sits on a
rocky outcrop in the forest. The fort was a vital citadel for the control of
central India. Though over run by vegetation, remnants of the summer
palaces, temples and guard stones within the fort still remain.
» Ranthambore Fort : Ranthambore Fort is another
noteworthy site for excursion in Ranthambore. The fort was built by the
Chauhan rulers in the 10th century and it was the envy of many rulers
because of its strategic location. Women of the royal household performed
jauhar (self immolation) when the Muslim invader Alauddin Khilji laid siege
to this fort in 1303. There are many temples, tanks, massive gates, and
curtain walls inside the fort.
» Jogi Mahal : Another important sightseeing is Jogi
Mahal, now a forest rest house overlooking the pretty Padam Talab. The
palace has all the facilities for a comfortable stay and it attracts large
number of tourists every year. The main attraction of the palace is an
ancient banyan tree that is considered as the second oldest in India.
