About the place
Bharatpur is a 55 km long journey by road from Agra. Best known for
it's bird sanctuary, the Keoladeo Ghana National Park, with a rich avian
variety, is perhaps the finest in Asia. Every year the rare Siberian cranes
migrate here to spend the winter in the warmer climate of Bharatpur.
About
the Hotel

Set amidst the sprawling 50 acres, and surrounded by undulating, yellow
mustard fields, the Laxmi Vilas Palace was built for Raja Ragunath Singh,
the younger brother of the then Bharatpur ruler, Maharaja Ram Singh. An
eclectic and lively fusion of Rajput and Mughal architecture, the palace was
earlier called Raghunath Niwas though locals always preferred to call it
Kakaji ki kothi.
